The "shadow channel" feature enables communications using virtually any combination of modes for ultimate roaming flexibility. All Datron Guardian™ products have the P25 FDMA common air interface for complete interoperability with other P25-compliant digital radios for use with federal, state, and local Public Safety agencies. All models provide full coverage of 30 to 88 MHz tactical VHF frequency band in 25kHz steps, while the PRC1080 provides full-band frequency hopping and digital encryption in the convenient handheld package. The transceivers are lightweight, compact, and provide effective communications in very harsh environments. They are waterproof and have been tested in MIL-STD-810.
